Goldfields Camp is the only accommodation situated in the center of Lucknow.

Lucknow is on the Mitchell Highway 9.5 kilometers east of Orange, a  10 minute drive and 45 kilometers west of Bathurst, a 35 minute drive. The current population is 330

Lucknow is a small village that was established due to gold mining in 1851. Lucknow’s gold mining heritage lives on with relics of poppet heads, mine buildings and cottages. Visitors can enjoy historic walks along the Lucknow Heritage Trail, relaxing meals, friendly locals, nearby vineyards and some quirky shopping. On the first weekend of each month, the Wentworth Mine is open to visitors between 10:00 am and 2:30 pm.

Lucknow Tavern has been fully refurbished and looks great. It is opened for lunch and dinner Thursday, Friday and Saturday and for lunch on Sunday.

Within a 20 kilometer radius of Lucknow are the pretty villages of Forest Reefs, Spring Hill with its Heritage Trail walk and the charming village of Millthorpe. Millthorpe offers a unique mix of history, culture and commerce with award winning restaurants. It has some unique boutiques, antique shops, art galleries and a museum. The entire village is classified by the National Trust.

Visits to vineyards and cellar doors is another popular attraction. Millthorpe enhances the cellar doors of Angullong  and Slow Wine Co. Along with this, is the Millthorpe Wine Centre in the historic Railway station featuring Edgecombe and Coffee Hill wines. Travelling towards Orange from Lucknow on the left  is Patina vineyard with its beautiful gardens. A further 3 minutes’ drive  brings you to Turners Vineyard, the Red Oak Cafe. Only a kilometer further on, on the right is the Highland Heritage Estate. Wine tasting here is done in a railway carriage.

ACCOMMODATION

Unit 1

Unit 1 is a separate cottage consisting of 3 rooms. Entry is to the lounge/kitchen which contains a small round table, 2 suede tub chairs, a bench with sink, dishwasher, microwave and cupboards. Within the cupboards is a 4 piece white dinner set, a toaster, kettle, microwave dishes, knives, forks and glasses. Hidden away is a front loading washing machine, dryer and iron. Wi-Fi is included with this unit.

A sliding door brings you to the bedroom which contains a double bed, plasma wall TV, bedside table, hanging racks and a storage trunk that can be utilised as a suitcase stand.

Behind another sliding door is the bathroom which has been designed as a disable bathroom. It contains a basin, shower and toilet and complies with Australian Standards for a disable room.

All rooms are beautifully furnished in neutral colours, providing comfortable executive accommodation.

Please  note: There is no on site Manager. The Manager is only available between the hours of 7:30am to 8:30pm.

Unit 2

This executive style unit accommodation features a large 38.5 square meter room, with a small modern white bathroom containing a shower, basin, mirror and toilet.

It is equipped with a kitchenette containing a crockery and cutlery set, glasses, salt and pepper, microwave dishes, can and bottle opener and cooking utensils. Each unit has a microwave, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board. Wi-Fi is included with this unit.

There is a bench work space with a tub chair along with a small round table and 2 tub chairs for meals. There is a plasma flat screen wall TV and a chest for luggage storage. There are bedside tables beside each bed.

This unit is beautifully furnished in neutral colours. There is a king size bed and one single bed.

Please  note: There is no on site Manager. The Manager is only available between the hours of 7:30am to 8:30pm.

Unit 3

Unit 3 is a mirror image of unit 2 being a large 38.5 square meter room with a small modern white bathroom containing a shower basin mirror and toilet.

It is equipped with a kitchenette containing a crockery and cutlery set, glasses, salt and pepper, microwave dishes, can and bottle opener and cooking utensils. Each unit has a microwave, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board. Wi-Fi is included with this unit.

There is a bench work space with a tub chair along with a small round table and 2 tub chairs for meals. There is a plasma flat screen wall TV and a chest for luggage storage. There are bedside tables beside each bed.

This unit is beautifully furnished in neutral colours. It has 4 king single beds, though these can be converted to 2 king size beds offering a range of flexible accommodation options.

Orange, located only 10 minutes from your Goldfields Camp accommodation, has a population of over 40,000 and is located 260 km west of Sydney, and approximately 295 km north of Canberra. It is a city renown for it’s 4 distinct seasons, deciduous trees, beautiful parks and gardens. There is something for everyone with many cafes, restaurants cultural activities and shopping opportunities.

In recent years Orange has become a “Foodie’s paradise” due to the increased production of local produce and wine. There are 4 FOOD festival each year and a farmers market every month. At theses markets you can obtain fresh produce from local growers including organic vegetables, teas, chocolate, beef, lamb, bread, wine and much more.

If you would like to take a stroll, the Orange Heritage Trail takes you through 40 places of historical interest. Leaving from the Orange Visitors Centre where you can pick up a brochure. You can also visit the Orange Regional Gallery for the latest art display, or enjoy various walks through the Orange Botanic Gardens 17 hectare site of native and exotic plant collection.

Getting to Orange is easy

  • It is a 3 1/2 hour drive from Sydney and Canberra
  • Australia Wide Coach runs a daily service to Sydney
  • NSW Trainlink run a coach and rail service several times a day and there is the XPT train service,
  • and Regional Express (REX) have several cruisy 45 minute flights a day.
